The REIV state budget submission.

May 29, 2006 (The Estate Agent - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The Real Estate Institute of Victoria (REIV) has recommended numerous reforms be included in the 2006-07 Victorian Budget. Regarding stamp duty, the REIV wants a significant rise in the tax-free threshold, lower rates overall and regular Consumer Price Index adjustments to prevent bracket creep. It says Victoria's stamp duty rate is higher than other states and the Government should progressively reduce its reliance on stamp duty for revenue.
