BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -- LifePoint Hospitals, Inc. (NASDAQ: LPNT) today announced that on May 30, 2006, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) regional office issued a provider number to Valley View Medical Center in Fort Mohave, Arizona. The issuance of a provider number will allow the hospital to begin billing for its services retroactive to the certification date of April 28, 2006. In addition, the hospital will be able to bill retroactively from the date of the hospital's opening through April 27, 2006, for emergency services rendered to Medicare beneficiaries in the hospital's emergency room.
