Article: Natural gas reserves reach highest level since 1984.(NEWSREEL)

The amount of natural gas estimated to be in U.S. natural gas reserves inventory experienced robust growth in 2005, reports an American Gas Association (AGA) analysis of reserves, based on figures reported by the 30 large natural gas reserves holders, which account for around half of total U.S. reserves.

According to AGA's Preliminary Findings Concerning 2005 Natural Gas Reserves, natural gas reserves were estimated to have increased from 193 Tcf at the end of 2004 to more than 197 Tcf at the end of 2005. This estimate places domestic reserves at their highest levels since 1984.
