Leading politicians last night called for British troops to withdraw from Iraq after the death toll of UK service personnel killed in Basra this month rose to nine. Two soldiers from the Queen's Dragoon Guards - known as the Welsh Cavalry - were killed in a roadside bomb explosion on Sunday. The men are the 112th and 113th British forces personnel to die since the start of hostilities in Iraq. Their next of kin have been informed and their names are expected to be released this morning.
