Thermoformed PETG trays protect glass bottles from the top and bottom and help provide 27 percent source reduction of packaging materials.
Beginning in December, Baxter Healthcare Corp.'s Biotech Hyland Div., Glendale, Calif., will ship its glass bottled albumin within identical top and bottom thermoformed trays. The trays not only protect the potentially life-saving fluid but also help reduce packaging materials 27 percent compared with a prior paperboard/corrugated system.
Announced at a press conference at WestPack two months ago in Anaheim, the tray is thermoformed by Creative Forming, using Eastman Chemical's polyethylene terephthalate glycol resin. ...
