May 31--Minor league umpires ratified a six-year collective bargaining agreement Tuesday that will bring an end to their season-long strike and the use of replacement umpires by June 12.The Association of Minor League Umpires, whose members have been on strike since April 6, agreed to a deal with the Professional Baseball Umpires Corporation that calls for a $100-a-month salary increase and a per diem hike of $3 per day, or roughly $90 a month."Our goal from the beginning of these negotiations was to obtain a fair contract," AMLU president Andy Roberts said in a statement.
