Why would someone spend up to 15 hours a day, sometimes sweltering in the sun, dealing out gobs of greasy, sweet-or-salty goodies to a never-ending line of sunburned festival goers?
"I don't know. You have to be crazy, I guess," said Mary Wagner, who, along with 13 grandchildren, spends every summer doing just that while operating her nine concessionaire booths at festivals throughout the Twin Cities metro area.
She's too polite to say how much she earns, of course, but many of those grandkids are putting themselves through college right now by helping her serve Dippin' Dots ice cream, caramel-apple sundaes, ...
