Jun. 2--Ireland -- one of international rugby's premier teams -- will play the United States at Santa Clara University on Saturday in a match with far-reaching consequences for the sport in this country. The teams will meet in the opening round of the Barclay's Churchill Cup at Buck Shaw Stadium. The U.S. squad, ranked 14th internationally, is expecting a tough challenge against the Irish, who defeated defending world champion England in the prestigious Six Nations tournament in March.
