Jun. 2--Nine Arizona companies, including a Picacho eatery, were fined for child-labor-law violations in the first quarter of the year, according to a report released Thursday. The number is a little lower than average for the quarter, said Orlando Macias, labor-division director at the Industrial Commission of Arizona. The labor division received 242 referrals about possible violations in January, February and March. Investigators looked at 27 cases and found violations in nine cases, he said.
