Trans World Entertainment is diving deeper into DVD as it integrates its recent Music-land acquisition.
Although CD sales are steadily declining at Trans World-operated F.Y.E. stores, DVD sales are gathering steam. To continue that momentum, Trans World is creating merchandising plans to expand its DVD footprint in 1,107 retail outlets.
Of the 335 acquired Musicland stores, 173 will remain branded Suncoast, which has become known as a DVD destination. Musicland's tune-centric Sam Goody stores will all be converted to F.Y.E. stores by the end of 2007.
By June, six of Musicland's shuttered Media Play stores will be morphed into a new Trans World ...
