SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- After a relatively flat 2005, the SARTA Technology Index surged in the first quarter of 2006 with a gain of over nine percent. As a measure of the greater Sacramento region's high tech economy, the positive upward momentum is due to healthy private company employment growth, continued venture capital investment and public company market cap appreciation, according to the numbers released today by SARTA.
