The Indian Cellular Association (ICA), an industry body of handset manufacturers, has rejected reports that have doubted the number of mobile subscribers reported by Indian operators.
The ICA has said the Indian market saw 15 million handsets sold in the last three months, which is more than the number of subscribers added during the period.
ICA's view adds to an increasing body of support for figures reported by cellular operators amid doubts expressed by a report brought out by the Yankee Group.
