Power shortages to reach 12,000 MW in China in summer
Shanghai. June 2. INTERFAX-CHINA - Maximum power shortages will reach a maximum of 12,000 MW of capacity this summer, an official with the China's electricity watchdog said this week.
Shi Yubo, the vice director of the State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC) said that power shortages this summer would mainly be found in eastern, northern and southern China, where the maximum shortages were estimated to reach 4,000 MW, 3,200 MW and 4,500 MW.
