In connection with the June 11 grand opening of the Minneapolis Institute of Arts' new wing, the museum has pulled from its flat files some 200 engravings, lithographs, and woodcuts from the 6,000 works in its Herschel V. Jones Print Collection, donated early in the 20th century by Jones, then-publisher of the Minneapolis Journal newspaper. The collection's three main focuses are its 15th- and 16th-century old master prints from Italy, Germany, and the Low Countries, an array of Rembrandts from the 17th century and dark, romantic cityscapes and landscapes from the late 19th-century print revival that ...
