Jun. 3--RICHMOND -- A Richmond house fire Friday afternoon left three children dead and one adult hospitalized for smoke inhalation. The fire broke out about 5:45 p.m. on the first floor of the home in the 900 block of View Drive. The smoke and flames apparently trapped the children, who were on the second floor in a rear bedroom, said Richmond Fire Chief Michael Banks. The children, two girls and a boy, were identified by their grandfather Chuck Culpepper as Dezionne Portis, 9; Jerimia "J.J." Cradle Jr., 5; and Isis Cradle, 2.
