Jun. 3--Produce grown by family farmers in Salinas, hand-woven baskets from Africa and fresh lavender are just a few of the goods that will be for sale at the Oldtown Salinas Marketplace opening today. More than 60 vendors, including local bakers, artisans and musicians, will gather in the parking lot in the 100 block of Main Street starting at 8 a.m. to kick off the business district's new farmers market.
