CONCORD, N.C. - A week after he crashed in the all-star race, Kasey Kahne rocketed to the front with 30 laps to go to win Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 and end Jimmie Johnson's hold on the race.
Johnson, who had won the past three Coca-Cola 600s, finished second and retains his points lead heading into next weekend's race at Dover.
"I hate to see a streak come to an end, but I've been very fortunate to win three of them,'' said Johnson, who won last week's all-star race, giving him seven wins in the last 10 races at Lowe's Motor Speedway before Sunday .
