Howlin' Wolf. The very name evokes an era and a kind of music that grew out of dusty Mississippi fields and soulful poverty, love gone wrong and hope lost. And Clay County native and blues great Chester Arthur Burnett, aka Howlin' Wolf, was among the best of the best. Richard Ramsey, devoted curator of the Howlin' Wolf Museum that opened in West Point in September 2005, personally remembers Howlin' Wolf. "When I was a kid, Chester used to come into my dad's store to buy his hunting license and sometimes played his harmonica for us."
