A year ago, representatives from the printing ink, paint, and coatings industries on three continents met in Washington, D.C. to discuss common problems and how they might be addressed collectively. Joining delegates from United States associations were those from Canada, Mexico, Japan, and Europe.
While all of the associations present had cooperated with each other in the past, the consensus was that the time had come for greater coordination among them on regulatory and environmental matters of mutual concern. To this end, they formed a new organization called the International Paint and Printing Ink Council (IPPIC).
