A privately-owned Dutch company called Nu-Soil Organic Waste Recycling Technology Ltd has developed an organic waste treatment process. The worldwide distribution center for the product is now in Israel.

The process involves using a preparation of inactive soil containing bacteria. The bacteria used all come from natural sources and are not genetically engineered. They are not air-borne and remain inactive until the biodegeneration process is started. When the preparation is combined with oxygen, water polluted with organic waste and solid organic waste, the bacteria are activated and start breaking down the organic waste.
