RAMBLERS and green campaigners were furious today over plans for a 12,000 bird free-range egg production site earmarked for a site near Stafford.
The owners of Aspley House Farm at Eccleshall applied for permission to build the unit but have already been told by planners it would constitute a "harmful visual intrusion" into a rural area ahead of a meeting at which the scheme's future will be decided.
The Ramblers' Association has expressed "deep concern" over the plan, which would affect the Eccleshall right of way, along with the Environment Agency. A ramblers' spokesman said walkers would be put at risk by a ...
