IRICO Group to invest USD 162.5 mln in LCD glass substrate production
Shanghai. June 6. INTERFAX-CHINA - IRICO Group, the largest color picture tube (CPT) maker in China, will attempt to break into the TFT-LCD business by establishing a LCD glass substrate manufacturing facility with a total investment of RMB 1.3 bln (USD 162.5 mln).
The project will be carried out in two phases. IRICO will build a glass substrate production line for fifth-generation TFT-LCD panels during the first phase, which will secure investment of RMB 600 mln (USD 75 mln).
