At the May 7-11 NSTI Nanotech 2006 Conference and Trade Show held in Boston, Kotobuki Industries of Japan exhibited for the first time in North America its innovative nanomill suitable for the dispersion of agglomerated nanoparticles.
The Ultra Apex Mill (UPM) is a unique nanodispersion wet grinding machine capable of the deagglomeration and dispersion of nanoparticles. The heart of the machine is its patented Centri-Separator capable of handling uniform ultrafine zirconia grinding beads ranging from 50 down to 15 micrometers in diameter. The company claims this is essential for dispersing agglomerated nanoparticles.
