Investors See the Light. Innovalight, Inc., (Santa Clara, CA) a privately-held company developing low-cost printed thin film solar cells, has announced it has raised an additional $7.5 million in private equity financing led by the Harris & Harris Group. The additional capital will accelerate development of ultra-low cost lightweight solar cells using its proprietary silicon ink-based technology. This is based on silicon nanoparticles which are only 1 to 4 nanometers in diameter. At these dimensions the particles exhibit quantum dot photoemission behavior.
