WHEN JOSE LIMON, a Mexican immigrant who devoted the early years of his life to painting, saw his first dance concert while at college in New York City, it transformed his life.
"It was the moment of my rebirth," he's quoted in the biography "Dance Is a Moment: A Portrait of Jose Limon in Words and Pictures." " 'My God,' I said... 'where has this been all my life?' This is what I've always wanted to do. I did not know it."
