Acrylic and acrylate chemistry may be well known, but its potential is far from being fully exploited. The combination of a carboxylic acid group--which makes it possible to form a range of esters--along with a polymerizable olefinic group, gives rise to a huge range of polymers serving a host of end-uses (chart).
