Jun. 8--Commercial airlines make most of their money by putting people in the seats, but lately carriers have renewed emphasis on filling another section of the plane--the empty space below deck.
Ferrying cargo across the nation and world is a growing billion-dollar business that has become a priority, especially for airlines that fly large jets internationally.
