Former Chateau Land Development Co. partner J. Peter Ministrelli and his wife, Florine, have donated stock valued at $15 million to William Beaumont Hospital to fund cardiac and urological research.
The Royal Oak hospital plans to announce the gift Thursday.
"The easy part of my life was making money,'' said Ministrelli, who is in his early 80s. "The hard part is giving money to the right people.
"I'm so impressed with all of the people on the staff who work (at Beaumont) that I want to be a part of that operation,'' he said.
