Jun. 9--The rising price of gasoline is starting to pinch some local economies around the state, according to a new survey by the Wisconsin Bankers Association.
Bankers, particularly those who lend in communities that rely on farming, tourism, logging or trucking, reported that $3-a-gallon gas is putting a strain on household disposable income and making it more expensive to run a business.
In all, about 62% of bankers who responded to the poll, which was released Thursday, said they had seen an adverse affect on their local economy from climbing gas prices.
