Lionsgate is increasing its involvement in the Latino market. The company has hired Arturo Chavez, formerly of Ventura, as director of Spanish-language programming. Chavez says Lionsgate plans to release about two Spanish-language films per quarter this year before going to a heavier schedule next year, thanks to deals made with Venevision and others to be announced. Among the first Spanish-language titles that Chavez is helping to bring to DVD at Lionsgate is La Mujer De Mi Hermano, an acquisition from Mach 8.
