New Hungarian government takes office as parliament elects Ferenc Gyurcsany as prime minister
BUDAPEST. JUNE 9. INTERFAX CENTRAL EUROPE - The Hungarian Parliament on Friday elected Ferenc Gyurcsany as prime minister, in the same vote accepting the government program.
Of Parliament's 386 representatives, 365 took part in the vote, with 206 voting "aye" and 159 "nay" to elect Gyurcsany as PM.
The 12 ministers in the new cabinet subsequently took their oaths of office, thus officially marking the formation of the second Gyurcsany government. Gyurcsany became prime minister in 2004 after the coalition parties revoked their confidence in then-prime ...
