Jun. 8--PORT ARTHUR -- The floors are covered in plastic in one wing of Woodrow Wilson Middle School. So are the doors, stairs, banisters, windows and some of the walls in the wing on the western end of the school.

The future of the somewhat forlorn structure, which still is housing some students, could be decided by the Port Arthur school board as early as tonight.

In making the decision, they will be discussing a building where, in that one wing, ceiling tiles have been removed, leaving ducts and wiring exposed and allowing a peek at how tall the roof is. The plaster walls have gouges and scrapes where contractors ...
