Jun. 11--In many respects, Daviess County is fortunate to have the Daviess County Detention Center. It's competently run, modern, efficient and pays for most of its expenses with revenue generated from housing state inmates and inmates from other counties. But in spite of all the millions the jail receives for housing those inmates, it will require $1.447 million from Daviess Fiscal Court to balance its budget in 2006-07. If inmate revenue falls below expectations, Jailer David Osborne will probably have to come back to Fiscal Court for more money.
