John Kenneth Galbraith, Harvard economics professor for some fifty years, died last April 29, 2006 at the age of 97. I am proud to have been one of his students in a course he taught at Harvard in the first semester of School Year 1960-1961, just before he was named Ambassador to India by the late US President John F. Kennedy.
It will come as a surprise to my colleagues in the business and economic professions that my training at the Harvard School of Economics was steeped in what can be called "leftist" economics.
