Jun. 10--Transitions Optical Inc, the world's largest photochromic coated-lens producer, plans to invest 540 million baht in a manufacturing plant in the Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate, Chon Buri.
Sudjit Inthaiwong, the deputy secretary-general of the Board of Investment, said the venture showed confidence in the Thai economy.
The investment aims to create 156 new jobs and transfer technological know-how and innovation to local industries.
The BoI is providing promotional privileges to support the project.
