Like clockwork, George Frederick Rock III would get a razor cut from Thomas A. Freeman each month.
It was a tradition that lasted 35 years, only ending shortly before Mr. Rock, 68, a longtime Denver banker, died last month.
"He stumbled into my chair the first time," recalled Freeman, who meant that literally.
"He was heavy drinking at that time," Freeman said. "But after he joined AA and got dried up, he was very proud of himself and did a lot of work for them and other charities."
Mr. Rock treated Freeman as an equal, the barber said.
