Northrop Grumman [NOC] and the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co. [EADS] hailed a German-U.S. memorandum of understanding (MOU) for interoperability of the U.S. RQ-4 Global Hawk and the Euro Hawk unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems, Northrop announced.
The Euro Hawk is derived from the Global Hawk.
The German Ministry of Defence and the U.S. Department of Defense signed the MoU Tuesday in Berlin, according to Northrop Grumman.
That memorandum is a critical step towards the Euro Hawk risk-reduction contract, which is expected in the fall.
