MILWAUKEE -- For the first four innings Sunday afternoon, Miller Park was a launching pad for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Milwaukee Brewers. For the final five innings, it was an offensive mausoleum.

The only problem for the Brewers, though, is that three solo home runs and a two-run triple weren't enough to offset the Cardinals' variety-pack attack in a 7-5 loss.

"I guess there are going to be days like that," Brewers starter Dave Bush said after he was roughed up for all seven runs on seven hits in the first four innings, tying his shortest outing of the season. "But it does make you wonder."
