Many former city people who want to get involved with farm machinery are intimidated by the seeming complexity and variety of what they see at auctions and on dealers' lots and could use some advice... starting with the basic fundamentals. As a man who once bought a plow because it was cheap, only to find out later it was a mounted implement and my tractor didn't have a three-point hitch, I can certainly sympathize, and possibly be of help.
We'll assume that you know, can figure out, or can ask what a particular implement is used for. Plows, disks, mowers and rakes are easy. If tools like rock pickers or cabbage (or tree or tobacco) planters aren't common in your ...
