Jun. 13--Just a few years ago, the idea of running a cheesecake store in Ohio was a long way from Dave Kilpatrick's radar screen.
Back then, he was a bluecollar worker at one of New Jersey's many chemical companies.
Funny how things change.
Kilpatrick moved to central Ohio when his wife -- now exwife -- decided to attend veterinary school at Ohio State University. It was then that he decided to start the Columbus Cheesecake Co.
"I make great-tasting cheesecake," he said unabashedly of his New York-style product. "No one here makes anything like it."
