ATLANTA -- The Florida Department of Law Enforcement last week closed a one-month probe into allegations that the state's commerce secretary illegally solicited bond business while a Dade County commisioner.
Despite the department's decision to end the investigation, Hillsborough County Commissioner Jan Platt, the chief accuser of Commerce Secretary Charles Dusseau, yesterday stuck by her allegations. She also called for Dusseau's resignation.
The investigation followed Platt's charges that Dusseau broke Florida's ethics law in identifying himself as a county commissioner in 1992 when seeking underwriting contracts for AIBC Investment Services Corp., a ...
