When a jogger complained recently at a Wilkes-Barre City Council meeting that every time he goes running in a local park, he stumbles over homosexuals engaged in sex, City Councilman Al Boris was more than sympathetic.
``You should shoot half of them anyway,'' he told the jogger at the public meeting.
The councilman went on to say that gays with AIDS are ``getting what they deserve.''
And money for AIDS research, he added, should be spent on other diseases, because homosexuals can stop AIDS simply by refraining from sex.
Boris, 67, the father of eight and owner of a bar, subsequently apologized for saying that gays should be shot.
