Ofwat today launched a consultation exercise into the change of ownership of Bristol Water plc. Last month Sociedad General de Aguas de Barcelona (Agbar) bought Bristol Water Group plc. Bristol Water Group plc was the parent company of Bristol Water plc, the regulated water company.
In a consultation paper published today, Ofwat is inviting views on any regulatory issues arising from the acquisition, including:
* the capacity of Agbar to be the owner of a regulated water business; and
