THE headline was unequivocal: "Telegraph poised to launch tabloid ".
Oh no, I thought, surely not. It would be the most retrograde step for Britain's last mainstream national daily broadsheet to take.
The Daily Telegraph's size is its USP, its unique selling point.
Having resisted the urge to follow the shape-changing Times, Independent and Guardian, it would make no sense for the Telegraph to do the same.
