The Syracuse SkyChiefs' board of directors considered dropping the Toronto Blue Jays and looking for a new major-league affiliate.
But the board didn't want to run the risk that Syracuse would be left standing at the end of the game of musical chairs between Triple-A and major league teams.
So in a unanimous vote at their regular meeting Monday, the board agreed to renew the SkyChiefs' Player Development Contract (PDC) with the Blue Jays for two more years through the 2008 season.
