ApS the push to exploit digital platforms becomes an increasing priority for networks and studios, so does the need to protect that content from piracy. But the quest to implement technologies that enforce predefined policies controlling access to software, movies and TV series--known as Digital Rights Management strategies, or DRMs--has been met with only limited success. Some experts believe studios are focusing too much on DRMs and not enough on getting the consumers what they want, and stress that cross-industry cooperation is needed if the full potential of digital technology and home networking is ever to be fully realized.
