MINNEAPOLIS - Before this trip, the last time the Red Sox were playing in the Central Time Zone was in the season's opening series in Arlington, Texas. There, Jonathan Papelbon took over the closer's job from Keith Foulke.
Last night, back in the heart of America, Kevin Youkilis took over the leadoff spot from Coco Crisp. There is no way of knowing if Youkilis will keep the No. 1 job for as long as Papelbon has kept his new job but based on his performance so far, it really is Youkilis' job to lose.
"I think right now the team plays out better this way," manager Terry Francona said. "Who knows how long it will last?
