Jun. 15--A decade ago it would have been inconceivable that Shane Black's Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (Warner, $27.98) - newly available on DVD, and definitely a fun rent - would be so widely ignored at the box office, barely released into multiplexes beyond the very largest cities, and never making it to this city at all. It has car chases and quips.
That alone should cut it. That, and a needlessly complicated plot of no real importance, nudity, explosions, movie stars, along with the cynical edge of an old Bruce Willis action picture. And from beginning to end, the script goes wall-to-wall with its pop-culture nods; so ...
