Jun. 15--For a play with only one side, Side Man has a lot of levels.
The title refers to a musician named Gene, who backs up a bandleader. A side man goes from band to band, filling whatever holes develop for whatever reasons. The StageCenter production of Warren Leight's Tony-winning comic drama opens Thursday and runs for two weekends.
