Jun. 14--SANTA BARBARA'S STATE STREET DENIM PURVEYORS had an old hand join their ranks Tuesday as Levi's, the jeans retailer with a history dating back to the Gold Rush, opened its newest store at 611 State St. While the brand is well known, Levi's actually has a fairly limited own-store (versus factory outlet) presence. The 2,000-square-foot Santa Barbara store is just the 19th in the nation, joining new sites in Las Vegas and Rancho Cucamonga that have opened this year.
